And so, after what seems an eternity, the mega-bout between Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao will be taking place.

With the Pacquiao camp having done there bit, we?ve been left hanging around for ages for Mayweather to do his bit.

Naturally there were odds and sods that needed tying up but last night Floyd finally announced that everything was set for a fight that will generate the biggest revenue in boxing history.

Announcing that he was, at last, going to give the public what they wanted, Mayweather Junior announced,

?What the world has been waiting for has arrived. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao on May 2, 2015, is a done deal. I promised the fans we would get this done, and we did. We will make history on May 2nd. Don?t miss it!?

We understand that the fight has been made at 147 pounds and that there is no-rematch clause in the contract, probably meaning this is a one off fight never to be repeated.

It?s expected that both fighters will go on a promotional tour before disappearing behind closed doors, sometime in March, to hone their bodies and fighting skills to perfection before climbing into the ring on 2nd May, for a fight which could see both fighters earn something akin to $100 million.

Thank goodness the deal has finally been signed.
