Until late last night, the indications were that the big fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao might be in jeopardy.

It seems that the contract to stage the fight hadn?t been signed and no tickets had been sold.

Some pundits even suspected that with the fight so close, it might be called off.

Thankfully that wasn?t the case with everything being cleared up late last night.

However, something that was decided yesterday was who would be the referee for the fight, with Kenny Bayless getting the nod.

Several boxing fan sites were critical of the appointment suggesting that naming Bayless favoured the Mayweather camp, but a legend from these shores, Ricky Hatton, has stepped forward with hi support for Bayless, remarking,

?Kenny was in charge of a few of my bouts and he is the best out there. He is the referee who makes the fewest mistakes.?

Which is good enough for me!
