If I recall right, one of the biggest hurdles that has prevented a clash between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, in the past, has been the subject of drug testing.

Unfortunately, with the sands of time eroding my memory, I can?t recall which of the two parties objected.

However, it looks as if there will be no such kerfuffle this time around with it being confirmed, yesterday, that Olympic style random drug testing will be the order of the day before these two titans of Boxing enter the ring, in Las Vegas, on 2nd May.

These tests will be carried out by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) and here at Vital Boxing we?re of the opinion it is a huge step forward and speaking about the development the Usada chief executive Travis Tygart has remarked,

‘It’s a strong statement of the importance of clean and safe competition to have these two fighters voluntarily agree to have a Wada-level anti-doping program implemented for this fight.?

Now, in the truest sense of the word, we can expect a good clean fight.
