Eleventh hour intervention by CBS CEO means megafight is officially on, tickets finally for sale
#Maypac just became official ? but who knew that Kid Glove‘s concerns about the fight as articulated below were justified: the fight was actually in jeopardy until this morning Pacific time. Well, according to Yahoo Sports here in the US, outstanding ?disputes? between Bob Arum?s Top Rank, Mayweather Promotions and the MGM Grand about ticket allocation, credentials and even hotel rooms threatened to derail the fight.
It was CBS CEO Les Moonves – the man credited with helping MayPac agree to make the fight happen in the first place ? who stepped in again by conference call late this morning (Wed) Las Vegas time and helped all parties iron out their issues, Yahoo reports.
Says Yahoo:
?The May 2 welterweight bout? which is expected to be the largest-grossing fight in history, is now officially on.?
?There will be a small number of tickets (500 according to Top Rank) made available to the public at a cost of $1500, $2500, $3500, $5000 and $7500? mid-to-late afternoon Pacific time.? For the UK time just add 8 hours.
For the millionaires among you, apologies: currently none of the top-priced $10,000 tickets are being made available.
