The promotion at the Liverpool ECHO Arena, on 25th October, will see Derry Matthews step into the ring again.
Matthews, a warrior who has a habit of pulling out a knockout punch even if he?s behind on points, is looking to get a world title shot.
On the Liverpool show, Derry will be taking on Cristian Rafael Coria, an Argentine fighter, for the vacant WBA International title, a victory will move him to the edge of the world title scene.
With Anthony Crolla fighting this weekend, in Manchester, and also keen to move towards a world title fight, is the possibility there that the two could meet again?
Crolla, ahead of his fight this Saturday night, in Manchester, has remarked about another bout with Matthews,
?There?s been a lot of talk on social media about a third fight with Derry Mathews but that doesn?t do anything for me at this stage. I?m ranked at number four in the WBO and if I get the win on Saturday I am looking in a really strong position to land a World title shot.?
‘The fight with Derry is always going to sell. We?ve had two great fights and I would take a third fight and it will always be a great fight, but at the minute, despite what Derry might say or think, I don?t need Derry now, it?s the biggest fight out there for him but it?s not for me.’
That may be the case now but things have a habit of changing quickly in this wonderful sport of ours!
