As he enjoys his status as the IBF heavyweight champion of the world, it remains to be seen who Charles Martin makes the first defence of his strap against.

There have been suggestions that Martin may venture to the United Kingdom to take on Anthony Joshua, on April 9th, whilst the big speculation doing the rounds yesterday was that Martin could well be the big-name opponent stepping into the ring with Hughie Fury on March 26th.

But until Martin’s plans become clear, the IBF champion isn’t short on views when it comes to the two big names of the heavyweight division – Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

Whilst the two fighters who hold the prestigious belts wait to confirm the dates and venues of their respective mandatory defences, Martin is under no illusion who will emerge the victor in the two big fights, remarking to the media,

?I expect Tyson Fury to repeat his performance in the Wladimir Klitschko rematch. Could be even more one-sided, because Klitschko is just an average fighter when he?s afraid to throw his right hand, and he clearly was versus a target as big and moving well as Tyson.

?I also think that Wilder will beat Povetkin. No matter who is next for me ? I just want to prove my words in the ring. I want them all!?

It’ll be interesting to see if Charles Martin has gauged these two bouts correctly.
