I?ve said absolutely nothing about the subject yet, probably because I?m no sure what to make of it.
When the news broke that Frank Maloney had become Kellie Maloney to say I was shocked was an understatement.
Where I come from that is just not a normal happening.
However if that is what Kellie (formerly Frank) decided then so be it, it?s not for me to judge others.
Anyway it appears that Kellie will soon be back on the Boxing scene having applied to the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBOC) for a promoter?s license.
Speaking about the application, Robert Smith of the BBBOC has remarked to the media,
?We are just going through the final formalities of the application ? and there is no reason why we shouldn?t issue the promoter?s license.
?Kellie has a wealth of boxing experience.
It turns out that Kellie (formerly known as Frank) ventured to a Boxing event for the first time on Saturday since the change, prompting the following remark,
?I was very nervous but pleasantly surprised at the reaction.
?I was nervous walking into a boxing hall in high heels and a dress.?
I?m probably not the only one in suggesting that this might take some time for us to get used to but you cannot question Kellie?s bravery.
