Although his recent record, in the ring, isn?t anything to write home about, losing three out of his last five fight, Matthew Macklin is being manoeuvred back into world title contention.

Ranked #9 by the WBC and with a record of 30-5 with 20 by way of knockout, Matchroom Sport have negotiated a deal whereby he?ll take on the #4 WBC rated Jorge Sebastian Heiland on August 30th.

The bout will take part on August 30th at the National Stadium, in Dublin. More importantly the winner of this fight becomes the mandatory challenger for the WBC title currently held by Miguel Cotto.

Quite an incentive I?d say to pull a winning performance out of the bag!
