With Chris Eubank Jnr having become the IBO word super-middleweight champion and David Price seeing his dreams of fighting for a world title dashed by Christian Hammer, two young fighter dreaming of reaching the top of their profession were also in action last night.

The highly rated undefeated Welsh boxer, Andrew Selby, was facing the Filipino WBC international flyweight champion Ardin Diale.

Selby boxed beautifully to claim the title with a unanimous points? victory and moved closer to a Shot at a version of the world title.

Continuing to get his career on the tracks after a ban, the Sheffield fighter Kid Galahad had his first fight as a featherweight. Galahad should have been fighting the Ghanaian fighter Joseph Agbeko. However, Agbeko was taken ill on the day of the fight and had to pull out.

Instead Galahad was matched against the Spanish based Nicaraguan Leonel Hernandez. Galahad was a class above his opponent and Hernandez was retired at the third round with an eye injury.
