Across the pond, over in the US, the remarkable Vasyl Lomachenko continued his march towards greatness.

In an eagerly anticipated defence of his WBO super featherweight title, Lomachenko took on the previously unbeaten former WBA world featherweight champion Nicolas Walters.

The fight, taking place at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada, saw Lomachenko successfully defend his title with Walters not coming out for the eighth round.

The first three rounds were close with both boxers trading blows. However, Lomachenko upped the pace in found four and the champions hand and foot speed bedazzled Walters.

Lomachenko was, by now, establishing a good lead with Walters taking some heavy punishment. But when the seventh round ended there was no indication that Walters had had enough, but when the bell sounded for round eight Walters remained on his stool.

The win takes Lomachenko?s record to 7-1 with 5 wins coming by knockout whilst Walters record slips to 26-1-1 with 21 wins coming by way of knockout.
