Bad luck has thwarted Willie Limond chances of defending his British lightweight title.

Having been crowned champion at the age of 36, the Scottish fighter was supposed to be defending his belt against Chris Jenkins.

Limond achieved a dream when he beat the former footballer Curtis Woodhouse on a split decision, over twelve rounds.

Sadly, for Limond, a shoulder injury has meant that the bout has had to be called off and Limond has had to vacate the title.

Jenkins will take on Tyrone Nurse in Leeds, on April 11th, for the vacant belt.
