Here at Vital Boxing we’re pleased to hear that a fighter who has given so many such pleasure during his career is set to continue in the sport.

The Glasgow light-welterweight, Willie Limond, looked as if he was going to call time on his career after being out of the ring for eighteen months.

However Willie has decided to give it one last effort and is preparing to fight for the WBC Silver title.

His opponent for that fight will be Christopher Sebir, on 19th March.

Talking about his comeback after his eighteen month absence, Limond has remarked to the media,

‘I was ready to call it a day.

‘After the Curtis Woodhouse fight, I kind of went flat – fights were promised, nothing happened.’

As for his opponent for the WBC Silver title, Sebir will enter the ring with a record that shows he’s had 34 fights winning 24, losing 9 and drawing 1.

Talking about the fight Limond added,

‘He’ll have 10 weeks’ notice come fight time so he’ll be in great shape and I believe it’s the best we’re going to see him.

‘And I’ll need to be the best to beat him and believe I will be.

‘It was good to be back in training on Monday, being put through my paces by Peter Harrison.

‘In my eyes, I’m in the best hands to get myself in the best possible shape for my age.’

Here’s hoping Willie Limond gets the win his career deserves.
