The announcement was made a while ago that Liam Smith was set to take on Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez.
However at the time the big-fight was announced, there was no indication of where the fight would take place and the proposed date was a bit fluffy as well.
But that has now been cleared up with it being confirmed that the bout will take place on 17th September at the AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
The stadium has a capacity of 80,000 providing the potential for a unique fight night, although there are reservations being expressed as to whether the fight will attract anything like that number of spectators.
But Oscar De La Hoya seems more than content with the facility chosen, remarking to the media,
?Texas loves Canelo and Canelo loves Texas, so it was a no-brainer to have it there.?
Canelo enters this fight with just the one defeat on his record that being against Floyd Mayweather Jnr whilst in his last fight he stopped Amir Khan after the Bolton fighter moved up two divisions.
Can Smith do what Khan couldn?t?
On September 17th we?ll find out!
