In Liverpool, on Saturday night, on a Frank Warren promotion, Liam Smith successfully defended his WBO title.
Matched against the #11 contender Predrag Radosevic, who entered the ring with a record that read 30-1 with 11 knockouts to his name, Liam Smith made light work of an opponent who was, quite simply, not in his class.
Smith, now 27-years-old, stopped Radosevic in the second round after catching his opponent with a body shot that saw his opponent fail to beat the count.
The official time of the stoppage was recorded as 1 minute 3 seconds.
Smith, in stopping his opponent, took his record to 23-0-1 with 13 of those wins coming inside the distance.
When asked whether he felt he was now ready to face the big-guns of the middleweight division, namely Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez, Miguel Cotto or the Charlo brothers, Smith replied,
?Any of those names, I?ll fight them tomorrow.?
Let?s see Frank Warren weave his magic and get Liam Smith one of those big-fights he now surely needs.
