The last heavyweight boxer to be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world was Lennox Lewis, back in 2000.
Now whether Tyson Fury will be able to try and match that remains to be seen.
Although the WBC champion, the only belt Tyson Fury doesn?t hold, seems keen to take the new champion on, already proclaiming himself to be the best heavyweight champion on the planet, boxing politics might just prevent the clash taking place.
However, returning to Lennox Lewis, the boxing legend offered the media these views on how Tyson Fury delivered what he always promised he would, remarking,
?Klitschko didn?t show up and Tyson played the ultimate mind games.
?Fury got into Wladimir?s mind about how robotic he is and being 6 feet 9 inches, Fury was much more fluid and relaxed than I thought he could be for being so big. Fury fought the fight he needed to fight. He was smart. It wasn?t exciting, but it was enough.?
It was and Tyson done British boxing proud.
