After the marvellous manner in which Gennady Golovkin stopped David Lemieux in his last fight, the hottest fight in Boxing at the moment suggested that he was intent on unifying all versions of the middleweight titles before moving up to super-middleweight.

On December 19th, Andy Lee will be defending his WBO version of the middleweight belts against Billy Joe Saunders, knowing that Golovkin wants that WBO belt he holds.

Whether Lee will be on Golovkin?s immediate radar or whether the fighter from Kazakhstan will put the WBO belt on the back-burner for now remains to be seen.

However, ahead of his fight with Billy Joe Saunders you get the impression that Lee is touting around for the Golovkin fight to be made by suggesting that he believes he punches as hard as the fighter many believe will inherit Floyd Mayweather Juniors crown as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Personally, having watched Lee struggle against Peter Quillin, I?m of the opinion Golovkin will simply blow him away inside half a dozen rounds.
