On the under-card of the Stevenson v Bellew fight, the Russian Sergey Kovalev was back in action.

Kovalev, defending the WBO light-heavyweight title he took off of Wales? Nathan Cleverly, was defending the belt against Ismayl Sillakh, from the Ukraine.

The champion showed that he is a formidable opponent by stopping the gallant Ukrainian in the second round.

Kovalev has his opponent on the canvas twice in the second round and has taken his record to 23-0 with 21 wins by way of a knockout.

There are rumours that Kovalev could meet Adonis Stevenson in a unification fight, hopefully Boxing politics won?t stop that one from happening as it could be a real cracker!
