Last night, at Wembley Stadium, Wladimir Klitschko rolled back the years and produced the kind of boxing skills that made him a ring legend.
Until Joshua caught him with that huge upper-cut, Waldimir looked as if he was going to win, either by a late stoppage or on points.
But that?s the beauty of boxing, especially at heavyweight level, is it not? One punch can turn things around in dramatic fashion.
After being defeated, Wladimir was the consummate professional, congratulating Anthony Joshua but also being mindful his own dream had been shattered, remarking,
?I did enjoy the night as well as you. I wish I would have raised my hand instead of being someone that didn?t make it and win the titles back
?But congratulations to Anthony, he got up, he fought back, and he won the titles.?
He did and Joshua deserves all the plaudits coming his way.
However, before the promotion started Eddie Hearn had refused to answer the question when the possibility of a re-match clause being in the contract was asked.
But it would seem there is such a clause with Wladimir further remarking after the fight,
?Of course, we have it in the contract, I?m right now interested.?
So it?s over to you Eddie Hearn, are we about to do it all again this summer.
