It has been three long years since Amir Khan boxed in the United Kingdom.

It was back in 2013 that the British public last saw Khan box on home soil when the flamboyant Bolton fighter defeated Julio Diaz, in Sheffield.

Since then Khan has seen his career focussed in the US but that seems all about to change.

Lurking in the pages of the Sun is the inference that Khan wants his next fight to be in this country with the fighter having been quoted as saying,

?I want to fight in January, in May and before the end of 2017.

?I?m going to start training and make sure my hand is fully recovered.

?I want my next fight to be in Britain. I know it?s going to be a tune-up.

?That?s why I then want to fight in May ? it has to be a big fight in May.?

Khan remains the #1 challenger to the WBC welterweight title holder Danny Garcia, however it appears a crying shame that Khan will only be using his promised fight as a warm-up for a ?big? fight, there are thousands who would love to see Amir have that ?big? fight in the UK, the country where he made his name.
