Last year the general feeling was that Amir Khan waited around too long trying to get Floyd Mayweather Junior into the ring.

Well it seems that Amir isn?t set to make the same mistake this time around.

After dishing out a boxing lesson to Devon Alexander last time out, Amir has given Mayweather?s camp two weeks to start negotiations for any proposed bout between the two.

Talking about his plans to the media, Amir had this to say,

?Last year I spent months chasing Mayweather.?

?That is absolutely not going to happen again. I will give it until the middle of January and if there are no signs he will come to the negotiation table, then I will look elsewhere.?

In my opinion that is an attitude to be admired.

Continuing, Khan added,

?I have to stay busy and I think my last two performances have shown I belong in the same ring as any welterweight in the world, including Mayweather.?

With this apparent new brash attitude, is Amir forcing the issue or preparing to walk away if the Mayweather camp treat the Bolton fighter the same way they did last year?
