Following his win over Chris Algieri, in New York on Saturday night, Amir Khan has once again stated that he believes he should be the next, and possibly last, fighter to take on the 48 fight unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Junior.

Whilst Kell Brook might insist that Khan has no right to even be considered as the next opponent for Mayweather Junior, Khan sees things differently and the Press Association has picked up on a few comments made by the Bolton fighter about getting into the ring with Mayweather, words that read,

‘I don’t think I have ever been closer to getting the fight with Floyd Mayweather than I am at this moment.

‘The indications are that I have strengthened my case with my win over Algieri and I believe there is every chance the fight could be confirmed within the next two weeks.’

I wouldn?t hang my hat on that Amir!
