The waiting for the announcement as to who Floyd Mayweather Junior will fight in his 9th fight goes on.

Several names have been the subject of speculation but our own Amir Khan yearns to be the boxer stood in the opposite corner to the unbeaten fighter.

But the wait for the opponent, on 12th September, to be named seems to be dragging on and on and Amir Khan is of the impression that Mayweather Junior is playing games.

Talking to the media though, Khan hasn?t given up hope that he will be that opponent, with the 28-year-old from Bolton, remarking to the media,

?I did give up hope but I?ve heard a few things which have motivated me to believe I still have a chance.

?Floyd?s playing games but why not just be a man, say who you are going to fight and get it done. Stop playing these games.?

?He is playing these games to look for every advantage he can get. Maybe he?s making me wait, distracting me, making sure I am not focused on what my job is, so he?ll catch me off guard.

?But that?s not going to happen. I?m always in the gym.?

I suspect that Khan will not get his wish, Mayweather?s camp will opt for the easy option for their man and won?t want to risk that 48-0 record against a fighter that might have the hand speed to embarrass him.
