Next weekend, in Liverpool, Amir Khan returns to the ring for the first time after two-years of inactivity.

Khan, now 31-years-of-age, will be taking on the Canadian fighter Phil Lo Creco in a fight he just has to win if he is to resurrect his hopes of returning to the world title stage.

Khan will take to the ring with a new trainer in tow after his previous trainer, Virgil Hunter, experienced health issues.

The Bolton fighter is no under the guidance of the American, Joe Goossen.

Ahead of the fight, Khan has spoken to the media about his new trainer, remarking,

?Joe?s getting me in the groove and helping me set the game-plan for Lo Greco.

I feel bad for Virgil. He?s sick. But I?m happy Joe took the job. He knows how to work with my style and weight division.

?I?m itching to get back into the ring.?

After being absent from a UK ring for several years, it?ll be interesting to see what kind of reception Amir gets from the UK boxing supporters.
