Amir Khan last fought in May 2016, almost a year ago.
It had been hoped that the former world-lightweight champion would be taking on his British rival, Kell Brook, in an all-British mega-fight.
Sadly, that didn?t materialise with stories of the pay-split not being agreeable to both parties.
However, after several false dawns, including a fight with the legend that is Manny Pacquiao being made and then called off, it appears that Khan, now 30-years-of-age, is hoping to make a return to the ring in November of this year.
No opponent has been declared as of yet, but Khan has his eye on a big name and possibly a world title fight, remarking to his local BBC radio station,
‘I’ve decided to take a big fight at the end of the year and for a title hopefully.
‘I was thinking of fighting at the end of this month but what I’ve thought of doing instead is fighting after Ramadan – I want to be back in the ring in November.’
Let?s hope Khan gets his wish, it really does seem an age since his last fight when he went up two weight divisions to unsuccessfully face Saul Alvarez for the WBC middleweight title.
