Speculation has been rife, in recent weeks, relating to Amir Khan and Devon Alexander meeting for the American?s IBF welterweight crown.

Well it now appears that a deal has been done and that the fight will take place, as expected, on 7th December.

The fight will see Amir move up a weight to try and attain World Champion status again but the Bolton fighter is only too aware that a loss, the fourth of his career, would see serious questions asked about his ability to continue.

Also, at the moment, there is the small question of where the fight, against Alexander, will actually happen. The Khan camp are pushing for a Dubai venue but the champions camp are reluctant to commit to anywhere other than the US.

Amir?s dad, Shah, has had afew words to say about the forthcoming fight, remarking to the press,

?This is another big fight for Amir. If he gets through against Alexander then other doors will open for him.?

?We?re looking at fighting in May but first Amir has to prove himself against Alexander, who commands respect as a world champ.?

?I really do think there is still a strong possibility of the bout taking place in Dubai.?

?I?d say it was 60-40 and we?ve already looked at some outdoor arenas. I?ve been told that Alexander does not want to fight in Dubai.?

Alexander is a decent champion and one can only wonder if Khan, moving up, is an indication of either a weight problem or Khan still pursuing his dream fight against Floyd Mayweather, something I?m of the opinion will not happen!
