Should he have moved up two weights to take the fight against Canelo?
Following on from the KO Amir Khan suffered in his middleweight title fight against Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez, there has been condemnation that he was allowed to take the fight against one of the hardest-punchers in world boxing,
Eddie Hearn, now probably the leading promoter in the UK, has accused Khan?s team of endangering their fighters? health, remarking,
?Khan?s team put him in a dangerous position that could have affected is health.
?He is getting all sorts of accolades for stepping up two divisions to challenge for the middleweight world title, but early in his career he was knocked out by a lightweight Breidis Prescott.
?That raised questions about Khan?s chin that have never gone away because he has been stopped by pig punchers.
?If you get knocked out by a lightweight, getting knocked out by a middleweight is going to be worse.
?I?m pleased he is now OK but when a fighter gets knocked out like he has been, it?s hard to get back to previous levels.
?Khan has never been the same since his KO defeats to Prescott and then Danny Garcia.?
Strong words there from Eddie Hearn but are they words you agree with?
We?d be interested to hear your views on the subject matter?
