On the under-card, at the Principality Stadium, Sunderland?s Josh Kelly was given the opportunity to showcase his skills.
After only having had five previous fights, all of which he?d won emphatically, Josh ?Pretty Boy? Kelly was matched against the ageing former world champion, Carlos Molina.
Molina, now 34-years-of-age, became the first opponent to take Kelly the distance, using his vast experience to frustrate his opponent and also clinching whenever Kelly looked like getting on top.
Kelly was the busier and stronger boxer throughout the ten-rounds and his eye-catching combinations were always going to see him given the verdict.
At the sound of the final bell, it was Kelly?s arm that was held aloft with the judges scores being given as:
? 98 ? 92
? 99 ? 91
and
? 98 ? 92
All in favour of Kelly.
The unbeaten Kelly will next be fighting on a show in Newcastle on June 16.
