Fresh from his wonderful win over his arch-rival Dillian Whyte on Saturday night, British fight fans are looking forward to the next time Anthony Joshua climbs through the ropes.
Well it appears the date for his next fight, at what is his spiritual home now the O2 Arena in London, will be 9th April 2016.
As we may have mentioned earlier there is a strong chance that is next opponent will be the former world title contender, Dereck Chisora, with his promoter Eddie Hearn quoted as having remarked,
?I think if we are looking at defending that British title, Chisora is top of the pile of options in that respect.
?He is promoted by Kalle Sauerland, who I know very well. There are a couple of international names as well.
?The IBF world title is vacant at the moment and we could put ourselves in the position to challenge for that belt.
?I know that Anthony would like the European title. He?s won the Commonwealth, the British and the European is a traditional step for British fighters to take to get to world level.
?April 9 is the date he will return to the 02. We?re looking at a tough test.?
Put the date in your diary folks, it?ll be another cracking night!
