Winning a Lonsdale belt outright is something most British fighters aspire to.

However, those who contest the heavyweight division tend to aim for bigger and better things.

In November, Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora meet for the European title but also at stake is the British title.

However, you get the impression that whoever wins the belt will quickly vacate it to press on for bigger and better things, namely a crack at the world title.

Lurking in the background is a certain Anthony Joshua who, on October 11th, will be taking on Denis Bakhtov at the O2 Arena, Joshua has spoken about wanting to win the British belt remarking,

?I want the British title. It would be a great start.?

?I would love the British belt and to defend it would be good.?

However, it remains to be seen whether Eddie Hearn has the same route planned out for his charge as the one Joshua desires.
