Anthony Joshua?s quest to unify the world heavyweight division is set to take a step nearer to becoming reality.
After much speculation, it has confirmed today that the Principality Stadium, in Cardiff, will host the huge heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker, on 31 March.
The fight will see Joshua put his IBF and WBA belts on the line with Parker putting his WBO belt up for grabs.
Talking about securing the deal, Joshua?s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has remarked,
‘I’m delighted to get this fight made – it’s been a long time coming.
‘It’s the first time in history that two reigning heavyweight world champions have met in Britain.’
With Joshua adding about the impending bout,
?These fights aren’t easy because there is a lot on the line – so respect to team Parker for taking the challenge.
‘I’m looking forward to it. Training camp is under way and before you know, 31 March will be upon us.’
Parker though, is of the belief he?ll emerge the victor, remarking,
‘Anthony Joshua is in for a huge shock.
‘A couple of months ago I heard him say: ‘Why should I be worried about this little kid from New Zealand?
‘Well, now he’s about to find out. And the world is about to find out whether AJ can really take a punch.’
The scene is set, and somebody is going to lose their unbeaten record, but who will it be?
