With Tyson Fury having pulled out of his re-match with Wladimir Klitschko, the big show planned for Manchester on October 29th is without a headlining fight.

Since the announcement was made there has been speculation that Anthony Joshua would be prepared to step into the void and take on the Ukrainian ex-champion.

But whilst Joshua seems keen to do so, it seems that the fact Tyson Fury won?t be relinquishing the belts makes the fight a no go.

Talking about a possible match-up, Eddie Hearn is quoted in the media as having remarking,

‘We’re fighting in nine weeks, so we need to announce an opponent next week.

‘I think the WBA and WBO would sanction the fight and the deal would be easy to do. But Fury’s legal battle to keep the belts will take too much time.’

But, if that hurdle could be overcome, it seems we could have a fight, with Hearn further adding,

‘I spoke to Bernd Boente for half-an-hour on Saturday and the conversation was great, we all fancy the fight,

‘It does feel a little bit early – Joshua has only had 17 professional fights and Klitschko’s experience worries me. But he looked awful against Fury. I think he’s done.’

I think you are right there Eddie, Joshua could stop the Ukrainian if he lands one of his big punches on his chin.

It?s just a shame I can?t see it happening this year, maybe next year though!
