I get the impression that the recently announced world heavyweight title fight between the current IBF champion, Charles Martin, and our very contender, Anthony Joshua, was an opportunity to good to miss for the Matchroom team.

Sensing that the fight might have come a little early, Hearn has taken a gamble, put up some huge money and put his belief in Joshua to fulfil what many believe to be his destiny.

Speaking to the media, Hearn has admitted the fight is a little too early for his charge, remarking,

?It has come two or three fights too early and we didn?t expect to fight for the world title now. But that?s the situation.

?We probably would not have looked to fight an awkward 6 feet 5 inch southpaw, so it is a risk. Martin can punch but Joshua is the favourite.’

And on the money put up, Hearn added,

?Martin will earn three times what he would fighting WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

?That?s why he?s coming ? because he believes he can beat Joshua and because it?s a big pay day.

?Joshua must be much more disciplined than against Whyte.?

Yes he must, otherwise his dream could become his nightmare.
