The dust is still settling on the fact that Anthony Joshua has stepped up to the mark and accepted the IBF world title fight against Charles Martin.

Joshua?s date with destiny, if he is successful, will see the Watford heavyweight win a world title in only his 16th fight.

Looking through the record books that would eclipse the likes of Tyson (28 fights), Muhammad Ali (20) and Lennox Lewis (24), it truly will be a remarkable achievement and one that would stand Joshua on a pedestal.

For many April 9th can?t come soon enough, patience isn?t the virtue they make it out to be.

Today, the press conference was held to formally announce the fight and Joshua was in good verbal form, remarking about the fight that could cement his place in boxing history,

?Some will say it’s too soon, [but] opinions are irrelevant – I have to do what I feel is right.

‘Experience is valuable,’

‘I’ve been in the Olympics, big British dust-ups, I’ve gone through these feelings, these emotions, these expectations.

‘The reason I’m here so soon is because of what I had to go through early on in my career, and what I have to take with me on 9 April [is] that belief in myself that I’m here, I’m capable and I’m ready to rock and roll.’

Go for it AJ, Britain is backing you!
