On April 9th, Anthony Joshua will make his return to the ring after his triumphant last fight against Dillian Whyte.
The name of his next opponent hasn?t been named but there is a real chance that it could be for the IBF heavyweight title currently owned by Charles Martin.
It?s understood that Martin has called out Joshua about defending his title, in London, against the Watford fighter.
However, being called out doesn?t naturally guarantee the fight will be made, it appears that Martin?s camp want a lot of money to defend against Joshua and Eddie Hearn needs to do the sums to see if such a fight is financially viable.
Talking about the fight, which would be Joshua?s 16th as a professional, Hearn is attributed as having remarked to the media,
?There have been a lot of people calling Joshua out. We need to find which of these is real.
?After speaking to Joshua and his trainer, he?s willing to take them on.
?April 9th, if we get our way, is going to be a night to remember.
?Martin is IBF world champion and he?s been calling Joshua out. Is it too early? It?s a huge gamble.
?He?s not our only option. We?ve got three or four others that we are looking at.?
What?s the verdict?
Is it a gamble worth taking considering Martin is more of a volume fighter rather than a big puncher and the fact that if they don?t take this fight it could be more than a year before another opportunity comes around!
Joshua ? Is It worth the Gamble?
