Down in Canary Wharf today, the British heavyweight hope Anthony Joshua took part in the pre-fight weigh in at the Reebok Sports Club.

With eight professional wins out of eight, on his career record, since turning professional after winning gold at the London 2012 Olympics, Joshua has been matched against Denis Bakhtov this Saturday, at the Excel Arena.

The weigh-in, conducted in a civilized manner, saw two contrasting boxers, Joshua looking every bit like a potential film star with his good looks and immaculately toned body against a fighter who looks as if he?s been through more brutal rounds than is healthy for even the best of fighters.

Whilst the career of Joshua is on the up, the same cannot be said for Bakhtov who, we feel, will go the same way as every other fighter Joshua has fought since turning professional

Talking to the media after the weigh-in, Joshua remarked,

‘I’m not under-estimating Bakhtov but the level of training and the experience I had as an amateur puts me in real good stead as a professional, and I feel confident in my ability with what I have learned in the last year.?

‘I want to put on a real good display of boxing skills as well as power.’

My prediction is that Joshua will get his ninth win and although Bakhtov might prove durable he?ll be stopped before the halfway mark as Joshua marches on.
