Already the holder of the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight title belts, Anthony Joshua is also gathering together another collection of titles.
Having already been made an MBE, earlier in his career, the boxer from Watford, universally recognised as THE heavyweight champion of the world, features again in the Queens’ Birthday Honours List.
To go with his MBE, Anthony has now been awarded the OBE in recognition to services to his sport.
Already, the accolades relating to the award have started to fill the social media network with the legendary ring announcer, Michael Buffer, getting in on the act with:
Congratulations 2THE CHAMP @anthonyfjoshua as receives OBE 2go along w/his MBE! What an accomplishment-Perhaps eventually I’ll be introducing him as Sir AJ
With an announcement awaited as to who AJ will fight next, either Povetkin or Wilder, it’s perhaps fair to say that AJ’s profile amongst the British public continues to climb and I’d suspect he’s well on course to becoming the most popular boxer this country has ever produced and that is some achievement.
