Last night, at the Liverpool Arena, our 2012 Olympic heavyweight gold medal winner Anthony Joshua was supposed to face an opponent that would push him all the way.

Facing the former British and European champion, Matt Skelton, Joshua showed that he is, quite rightly, rated as a tremendous prospect.

Although Skelton is now 47 years of age, Joshua dismantled his opponent and forced a stoppage in the second round.

The end came about after Joshua caught Skelton with a huge right hand which saw Skelton just about manage to beat the count. However, the end was nigh with Joshua mounting a ferocious attack that saw Skelton only kept up by the ropes prompting the referee to step in.

The win makes it 7 wins out of 7 for Joshua with all 7 coming via stoppage inside two rounds.

Following his latest win, Joshua had this to say,

?Matt was game but my plan worked. If I keep on progressing, I?ll keep getting these first and second round knockouts.?

And who is to argue against that statement?
