Anthony Joshua issued a statement last night when he stopped Kevin ?Kingpin? Johnson in the second round at the O2 Arena.

Johnson came into this fight full of bravado and was so confident he could de-rail Joshua?s 100 per cent record that he?d placed a substantial bet on himself to win.

Before climbing through the O2 Arena ropes, Johnson had never been stopped and had been in with some high-class fighters, including Vitali Klitschko and Tyson Fury.

The American, on the back of his pre-fight comments was booed into the ring whilst Joshua on climbing into the ropes was given a huge cheer.

The action was soon underway and Johnson, in an act of bravado, seemed prepared to stand just in range and see exactly what power Joshua had. The unbeaten Watford heavyweight wasn?t slow to unload and a huge overhand right saw Johnson hurt, The American tried to kid Joshua that he wasn?t hurt but when a right caught Johnson on the side of the head the American hit the canvas.

Bravely climbing to his feet, Johnson was caught again by a barrage of punches and once again he was left sprawled on the canvas. The bell sounded and Johnson was helped to his feet, saved by the bell.

The bell for the second round started and Johnson wobbled out of his corner into the centre of the ring. Joshua, taking on the role of the smiling assassin, smiled at Johnson and stuck his tongue out as well, obviously recalling the jibes aimed in his direction before the fight. The British fighter was unloading big-time and when Johnson slumped to his knees the fight was all over and Joshua had achieved, by far, the biggest win of his career.
