After ripping the IBF world heavyweight crown form the flimsy grasp of Prince Charles Martin, only a matter of weeks ago, at the O2 Arena, in London, Anthony Joshua is wasting no time in defending it.
The nations? latest sporting hero has announced that he will be returning to his spiritual home, the O2 Arena, to make the first defence of his IBF crown, on Saturday 25th June.
The fight will be the 17th of Anthony Joshua?s professional career and he?s won the all by knockout
Talking about his latest foray into the ring, Joshua has been quoted as having remarked,
‘I wanted the closest date possible because I’m feeling good.’
After his charge won the title, on that marvellous night at the O2 Arena, Eddie Hearn had suggested that Joshua?s next fight would be on 9th July at Wembley Stadium, however, the announcement that Tyson Fury will take on Wladimir Klitschko, in Manchester, on that very night has forced a change of plan.
All that remains to be revealed is who Joshua?s opponent will be, we wait with baited breath.
