On the under-card of the Whyte v Browne heavyweight fight at the O2 Arena, in London, was an interesting light-heavyweight fight.
It featured the ring return of the Commonwealth light-heavyweight champion Callum Johnson who has seen his career interrupted by injuries.
Johnson was matched against the British light-heavyweight champion Frank Buglioni.
It was a fight that was expected to be a tough one however, it was to end in dramatic fashion the first round with Johnson destroying Buglioni with a display of powerful punching.
More-or-less the first punch thrown by Johnson had Buglioni in trouble with his legs betraying him.
Maintaining the pressure Johnson continued to force Buglioni to retreat and the referee, with Buglioni in no fit state to defend himself, stepped in to stop the fight.
Buglioni was, obviously, upset with the decision but it was the right one to take.
Johnson showed, with this performance, he can be a force to be reckoned with in the light-heavyweight division, as for Buglioni, it?s difficult to see where he goes from here.
