We?re sat patiently waiting to find out if the proposed fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko will go-ahead.

Yesterday it was suggested that any hold-up was due to the wait for the WBA to sanction the fight before the Ukrainian would be prepared to come to the UK to face Joshua.

However, it seems that if the fight is made the WBO belt will not be up for grabs.

It seems the WBO belt is set to be contested for by Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz Junior.

Twenty-four-year-old Parker, from New Zealand has 21 wins from 21 fights and is rated the number 1 contender by the WBO, whilst Ruiz Junior, the older of the fighters at 27, has won all his 29 fights and is the number 3 contender on the WBO ratings list.

The fight looks set to take place on 10 December with New Zealand the likely venue.

Ruiz Junior?s promoter Bob Arum, has stated the bout has been sanctioned by the WBO as being for their title, although there has been no official announcement from the organisation.

We await the official announcement.
