With the announcement coming in midweek that, courtesy of his dalliance into the heavyweight division, Tony Bellew had been elevated in the WBC ranks to Emeritus Champion, his belt has been declared vacant.

Tonight, in Dortmund at the Westfalenhalle Marco Huck and Mairis Bredis will contest the belt.

Huck, with a record that reads 40-3-1 with 27 wins coming by way of knockout, is the #1 WBC contender and is the favourite to beat Briedis who has a record that reads 21-0 with 18 wins coming by way of knockout.

At the weigh-in yesterday, Huck weighed in at 199.5 pounds and looked in great shape whilst Briedis came in at 199.5 pounds.

Here at Vital Boxing we?re taking Huck to win, possibly by a late stoppage.
