It seems an age since James DeGale won the IBF super-middleweight title beating Andre Dirrell, in Boston.

However, it was only in May that DeGale captured the crown and now the London fighter has announced that he is set to make his first defence of the belt.

DeGale, who has now won all eleven of his fights since losing to George Groves back in 2011, will be taking on Lucien Bute.

The fight will take place on November 28th and, once again, DeGale will cross the Atlantic with the fight set to be held in Quebec, Canada,

Bute, a Canadian based Romanian, has previously held the IBF version of the crown but was defeated by Carl Froch in 2012.

It has all the makings of a tough first defence for DeGale and the 29-year-old may not be doing himself any favours by opting to make that first defence in his opponents? backyard, whether it is the correct move or not remains to be seen.
