It appears that the UK is set to witness a fight that will have reverberations around the world.
Earlier today we speculated over whether the hugely anticipated match-up between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko would get the go-ahead.
This afternoon news has broken that it is almost a done deal.
Speaking to the excellent BBC Radio 5 Live show, Eddie Hearn has remarked that both fighters have agreed to the fight, the financial terms are agreed and that a problem with US broadcasters has ben sorted, or as Eddie succinctly put it,
‘The deal between the fighters is there. The financial terms are agreed, there was a problem with US broadcasters but that has been sorted.?
All that remains to be sorted, according to Eddie, is what titles are up for grabs, with Eddie further adding,
?It is now a case of getting the paperwork and the sanctioning in order. Hopefully in a couple of days we will have the official announcement.’
The fight is most likely to be at the 21,000 capacity Manchester Arena, let?s hope common sense prevails and that the WBA and WBO agree to put their titles on the line therefore making it a block-buster event the like of which this country rarely witnesses.
It?s Almost a Done Deal!
