We suspect that Kell Brook would have been tuning into the IBF welterweight fight between Shawn Porter and Paulie Malignaggi in Washington DC last night, considering he?s scheduled to meet the winner.
Brook, the mandatory challenger will, if the fight goes ahead as expected, be facing Porter who produced a stunning display to stop the former two division Malignaggi inside four brutal rounds.
Malignaggi was always sup against after being cut in the opening exchanges but the finish when it came, in the fourth round, saw Porter put Malignaggi down with a right hand to the head, the challenger managed to get back up but was soon on his back again after a flurry of shots from Porter and the referee was forced to step in to prevent the challenger from shipping further, unnecessary punishment.
The win stretches Porter?s record to 24-0 with 15 by way of knockout and afterwards remarked,
?I definitely needed a victory like that. I knew what he was coming with, and I asked him some questions of my own.?
With Brook also being unbeaten, the clash has the possibility of being a real belter of a fight, as to who?ll win, I?ll reserve judgment for now!
It?ll Be Porter for Brook Then!
