Is time a different entity when it comes to Boxing?

The reason I ask is that it must be some four weeks since Carl Froch implied he?d be making a statement about his future / next fight in seven days? time. Similarly, I must be a month since Amir Khan predicted there would be a big announcement relating to a fight with Floyd Mayweather Junior being forthcoming in fourteen days? time.

Continuing on the Mayweather Junior theme, we?re beginning to doubt whether Khan will get that fight he craves, but another viable Mayweather opponent, Keith Furman, for what is being predicted as Floyd?s last fight, reckons Khan shouldn?t be in the running anyway, stating that the Bolton fighter has yet to face a strong punching welterweight.

Instead Furman reckons that when it comes down to who should be facing Mayweather in September it should be either himself or Kell Brook with the American remarking,

?Outside of myself, and I am the highest ranked American fighter in the welterweight division today, I believe the most deserving would be Kell Brook.

?He deserves it, he has fought one good American fighter Shawn Porter and had a great performance.?

It is, I?m afraid, hard to argue with those words of wisdom is it not?
