After failing to secure a fight, for the time being, against the legend that is Floyd Mayweather Junior, it has been confirmed that Amir Khan will fight on the undercard on May 3rd, in Las Vegas.

Khan, who has been inactive for a lengthy period of time, will be taking on Luis Collazo. It?s a tricky fight for Khan as Collazo is coming off of a terrific win against Victor Ortiz in January.

Collazo has record of 35 wins from 39 fights but already there is talk, from within the Khan camp, that a fight against Mayweather is still on the cards with Khan being quoted as remarking,

‘Floyd’s never faced anyone with explosive quick speed.’

‘I think that’s what we bring to the table. Marcos Maidana, Canelo Alvarez, no disrespect are not as quick. I spoke to Floyd on the phone recently and he said if we both keep winning, the fight will happen in the future.’

But, back in Sheffield a certain Kell Brook also has aspirations of a clash with Amir, with Amir having a few words for the fighter who will be fighting for the IBF belt in the summer, commenting about another huge all-British fight,

‘Kell Brook is a name that keeps getting mentioned, but I’m fighting against the biggest names in world boxing. Kell has not faced anyone decent in his last few fights.?

‘If I faced someone of the calibre of Robles I would have been discredited. I’m fighting the top guys in the world. If Kell Brook wants to fight me then he’s got to prove himself. If he fights big names and beats them then I can’t see why not. I think it can happen.?

‘If he gets world title fight I will fight him. But I think it will be a long time. If he comes a world champion I’ll take the fight in a heartbeat.’

Clearly, there are some exciting times ahead for Amir as he, finally, gets back into the ring after a long absence.
