As the build-up continues for the epic encounter between David Haye and Tyson Fury, on September 28th, it turns out that Fury could well have been boxing for Hayemaker Promotions Team.

Whilst Fury was still an amateur Haye watched the younger fighter spar but walked away unimpressed, or as Haye succinctly puts it,

?Myself and Adam Booth had Hayemaker Promotions and were looking at signing young fighters.?

?George Groves, Michael Maguire and Tyson Fury were the three standouts we went to see. We signed up Maguire and Groves and gave Fury a swerve.?

?I walked out after a couple of rounds. I remember being really unimpressed.?

Naturally, Fury had a response to Haye?s jibe, remarking,

?Well obviously they made a mistake didn?t they? They didn?t sign me, did they? So they must have made a mistake.?

?I wouldn?t have went with Hayemaker anyway. I wouldn?t have somebody as my promoter who is in the same division as me.?

?It would have been a bit weird fighting the boss but we all know who will be boss come September 28th.?

For me the bout can?t come soon enough but I?m certainly going to enjoy the on-going build up, how about you?
