In the early hours of Sunday morning, UK time, Floyd Mayweather Junior will make his 49th walk to the ring of his professional career.
The flamboyant American has won all 48 of his previous fights and has chosen, disappointingly, Andre Berto to be his next opponent in his sanctuary of Las Vegas.
If Mayweather wins he will equal the record set by Rocky Marciano of 49-0 and if you believe the flash American, he?ll not be tempted back for that 50th fight, with Floyd remarking,
‘If you stick around too long, anything can happen.
‘I’m not really worried about losing, but I want to have a sharp mind. You can make a lot of money, but you still want to be able to walk and talk. Number 49 is my last fight.’
Is it?
Do you believe Mayweather will simply retire from the sport with his record sat at 49-0 or, somewhere down the line can you see the 38-year-old joining that infamous comeback trail so many have trod?
Is Floyd Telling the Truth?
