James DeGale?s patient wait for his world title fight might just be about to pay off.

Having been the IBF mandatory challenger for some time, DeGale has patiently waited for Carl Froch to fulfil his obligations as the IBF world title holder.

However, with Froch side-lined through injury, it is now looking very likely that the champion will vacate the crown rather than being stripped of it by the IBF.

If, as expected, this happens then James DeGale will meet the #2 IBF contender Andre Dirrell, a fighter who has a record that reads 24-1 with 16 by way of knockout.

Eddie Hearn, DeGale?s promoter is of the opinion that he can put this IBF world title fight on at the O2 Arena with April 25th being the proposed date.

Bring it on is what we say!
